September Newsletter
Back to School - Back to Karate
We hope all of our students and families have had a summer filled with fun, sun and spending quality time together. For those in our afterschool clubs who have taken a little break over the Summer, we can’t wait to see your lovely faces over the next couple of weeks. Likewise, if you’ve missed a few lessons over Summer, we look forward to helping you get back into your routine and welcoming you back to karate.
It’s an exciting time for the kids heading into new classes with new teachers, with some transitioning into High School/Colleges/Universities. We are here to support you through it and try and take away any anxiety you may be feeling. The best way to take your mind off your worries is through exercise and being surrounded by familiar faces who you kick and punch with each week! Come and relieve your stress in the dojo.
As you will know, we have been running our Summer Rewards Scheme and it’s not over yet, you still have until Sunday 7th September to get those last few classes in before we give out your awards for attendance.
Just a little reminder:
There are 3 levels of awards:
Gold🥇 Award for those who train in 10 or more classes
Silver🥈 Award for those who attend 8 or more classes
Bronze🥉 Award for those who attend 6 or more classes
Awards will be given out by Instructors in classes from Monday 8th September onward.
***** EARN BONUS CLASSES *****
*****Bring a Friend/Family member throughout August, they can try karate for free and we will add a class onto your total free of charge!
(Friends or family must be non-members)
We have had lots of parents join in over the School Holidays which is fantastic to see. It really helps keep the youngsters working hard and attending regularly if Mum or Dad are right beside them, improving their own mental & physical health and setting a great example. I think it’s fair to say a few have caught the karate bug now! Happy to add you onto the APP if you want to continue enjoying the benefits of karate. Just message info@redtigerkarateclub.co.uk with your details and the name of your child and I will add you on.
Upcoming Events and Latest News

Big thanks to Sam Jackson Sensei who is giving up his weekend to coach our students.
Enjoy the experience you’ll gain at this high level International competition, to become the best you’ve got to put yourself among the best. Medal or no medal, you’ll win or learn, try your hardest and leave it all out there on the matts! We are proud of you for having a go.
Squad Class Relaunch Open Night - Monday 8th September
This is your chance to come down and try our Squad Class which runs every Monday evening.
We are inviting all students 8th Kyu and above to attend this session and work on their Katas and Kumite for the upcoming RTK Club Championships. Your Instructor may speak to you about this in classes next week.
The Open night will be held on: Monday 8th September at Thornleigh Salesian High School, Sharples Park, Bolton. BL1 6PQ.
Time: 8:00pm-9:00pm
Instructors: Sam Jackson Sensei - 3rd Dan, Jaime Pratley Sensei - 3rd Dan and David Smale Sensei - 3rd Dan.
You can choose to work on your Kata or you Kumite, and if you fancy a bit of both, you could switch half way through.
We are looking for a diverse range of ages and grades to join our Squad. If you perform well at the session and more importantly, if you enjoy it, you may be invited by the Sensei’s to continue attending. The earlier your start competitions the more chance you have of success. The quality of Instruction in this class is exceptional. All 3 Sensei’s have a wealth of competition experience and they can solely focus on your Kata or Kumite. You will see rapid improvement in your technique.
GCSE and A Level Results
We hope that of our students that have received their results over the last week weeks have achieved what they wanted to. If you have - Congratulations and keep up the great work! If you still have work to do, then persist, stay positive and be resilient. It’s only over if you quit. Keep working hard and you’ll get there. There are a few students who have been with us for many years who are making us feel extremely old and moving onto University! Fear not, you’ll have more half terms and reading weeks than you’ll know what to do with. If you’re coming back visiting your family, make sure you pop in and see your karate family too. We will miss you! We also have connections across the UK through our partnership with the EKF. Speak to us as we may be able to connect you with a great karate club so you can keep kickin’ and punchin’. You’ll have to work off the beer and pot noodles somehow!
