Celebrating Success Across the Club

It’s been another fantastic couple of weeks for the club following all the Summer Course/Dan Grading excitement! The last week has been filled with sunshine, achievements, hard work, and unforgettable experiences.

Grading Success in Crawshawbooth & Bolton

Firstly, a huge congratulations to everyone who graded at our recent sessions in Crawshawbooth and Bolton. Your dedication and effort were evident throughout, and we are incredibly proud of you all.

A special mention goes to Maria D, who was awarded Student of the Grading by Mike Beckwith Sensei – a well-deserved recognition of her outstanding performance. Well done, Maria!

Jaime Sensei Competes on the World Stage

We would like to wish the very best of luck to Jaime Sensei, who has travelled to Croatia to compete in the WKF Karate One Youth League in Poreč.

Alongside competing, Jaime has taken part in a high-level training course with Italian champion Alessio Ghinami, and even had the opportunity to meet karate legends Damien Quintero and Douglas Brose.

What an incredible experience – we hope you enjoy every second, Jaime Sensei!

RTK Squad Impress at Central England Open

While Jaime Sensei was competing abroad, Sam Jackson Sensei was hard at work coaching our squad at the Central England Open.

A big well done to:

  • Joe R

  • Nate W

  • Loui D A

  • Jayden C

  • Greg Burton

  • Martin Cook

All competitors gained valuable experience at this high-level competition. A special congratulations goes to Martin Cook, who brought home a bronze medal in kumite – fantastic effort!

Thank you to Sam Sensei for his coaching and commitment, and to Julie M for organising the team.

National Recognition for Joe R

More exciting news for Joe R, who has been selected for the EKNGB Kata A Squad. He will now train alongside the country’s top kata athletes at national squad sessions.

This is a brilliant achievement and a testament to Joe’s dedication and hard work. Congratulations!

Ava Staton Achieves Nidan Black Belt

Finally, a huge congratulations to Ava Staton, who has been training with us for over ten years. Ava has now successfully completed her Nidan Black Belt, after retaking the kumite section of her grading at the Tottington Friday class on 26th June.

We are incredibly proud of Ava – her perseverance and resilience are truly inspiring. A well-earned achievement! After a strong performance in both the katas and kihon section of her second dan grading, she was unable to finish it due to an injury occurring in the kumite. Since then she has worked consistently hard and trained in extra lessons to fully prepare herself this time around. She has improved considerably during this time and fully deserves to be a Nidan. We are so proud of her achievement and she should wear that 2nd Dan with pride. It is a tough grade to get at Red Tiger and we deliberately make it that way. She has everything it takes to keep training and achieve more and more. Well done Ava.

Keep Up the Amazing Work

From gradings to national selection and international competition, it’s been an outstanding period for RTK. We’re proud of every single member of the club – keep training hard and supporting each other.

Osu!
