🐣 Easter Smash Challenge – Winners Announcement
A huge well done and thank you to everyone who took part in our Easter Smash Challenge. We were absolutely blown away by the effort, creativity, and quality of all the videos sent in via email and posted on our group facebook page — we hope you enjoyed taking part as much as we enjoyed watching them!

🌟 A massive congratulations to Benjamin McDermott from the Horwich & Squad Classes for winning the Kath Head Award.

🧑🏫 Instructor News
We are delighted to share the following instructor updates from across the club:
🎉 Welcome to Isaac Jepson Sensei (2nd Dan) as he officially joins our Instructor Team. Isaac has been training within our club for the past 8 years and is a fantastic karateka. Congratulations on your appointment — we are really looking forward to working together and seeing you grow in your new role.
👏 Kelly Dawson Sensei made a cameo appearance at our Club Championships, helping us out by refereeing. Kelly is currently targeting a mid‑April return to the Crawshawbooth class following her successful surgery and speedy recovery. We will be absolutely delighted to have you back — the class has missed you!

🌍 Special Guest Course – Sophie Wachter Sensei
We are delighted to announce that WKF World Kata Champion Sophie Wachter Sensei will be joining us for a very special training event:
📅 Saturday 9th May
📍 Bury Grammar School, Bury
Course times:
12:00pm – 2:00pm – Junior Grades
2:30pm – 4:30pm – Black Belts
Sophie Sensei is a German Karate superstar, a 4th Dan Black Belt with over 26 years of karate experience and a Gold Medal at the 2014 WKF World Championships in Team Kata. This is a rare and exciting opportunity to train with a true World Champion — do not miss out. This is her first time visiting Manchester, so let’s have a great turn out for her. This is a must do course, especially for all our young girls and females. She’s an experienced Instructor with a phenomenal talent, still right in her prime - Prepare to be inspired!

🥋 Black Belts may attend both sessions for £30

🏅 Club Gradings
The next Club Gradings will take place on:
Saturday 16th May – South Manchester, Talbot Centre, Stretford, Manchester. M32 0XA
Sunday 17th May – St Catherine’s Academy, Newby Road, Bolton, Lancashire. BL2 4HU
If you are ready you will be put forward by your Sensei over the next few weeks. The key is to always train hard and STAY READY!
👥 Cadet Leader & Assistant Instructor Class
The next Cadet Leader and Assistant Instructor Class will also take place at St Catherine’s Academy:
📅 Sunday 17th May
🕧 12:30pm – 1:30pm
This is a larger venue than usual, so we should have more space available.
📱 School Holidays & Class Attendance
A reminder that during school holidays, if your class is listed on our Club App, then it is running.
✅ Please book on at least one day in advance so that we can plan classes properly.
✅ If your usual class is closed, you are very welcome to train at any of our dojos across the club.
📍 New Dojo – Lymm
A warm welcome to all members joining us at our new Lymm Dojo with Sensei Isaac. The class starts on Monday 20th April and will take place every Monday and Wednesday thereafter. We hope you feel welcome in our community and take full advantage of the great opportunities our club has to offer.
