More Instructors starting new classes in March

Congratulations to the following New Senseis whose new classes will be opening classes in March:

Jaime Pratley Sensei and Helen Cowley Sensei.

Jaime Pratley Sensei has been training with us since he was a teeny tiny dot! He’s all grown up and will be turning 18. He cannot wait to get started with teaching his own class after spending many years as Cadet Leader and Assistant Instructor. Jaime’s class will be opening on Tuesday 12th March at Feniscowles Primary School in Cherry Tree, Blackburn. Best of luck Jaime, I am sure you will be fab!

Helen Cowley Sensei has been training with us for quite a few years now and been helping Mark Sensei in the Little Lever class. She is a self confessed Karate Addict and spends almost every night of the week in the dojo, if she’s not in the dojo, shes probably thinking about karate or practising it at home. She will make a fantastic Instructor. Helen Sensei will be opening a new dojo on Wednesday 20th March at Mesne Lea Primary School in Walkden. Good Luck :-)

Squad Classes are going from strength to strength

We have had plenty of novice competitors trying out our Kata and Kumite Squad Classes. If you are thinking of giving it a go, remember you will always be made to feel welcome.

Kata Squad and Kumite Squad classes take place every alternate Monday from 7-8pm over at Thornleigh Salesian High School, Sharples Park, Bolton. BL1 6PQ.

Kata Squad is taught by Mike Baron Sensei, Grace Baron Sensei and Gary Pratley Sensei and Kumite Squad is taught by Molly Austin-Hogsden Sensei.

Cadet Leader and Assistant Instructor Class

The next Cadet Leader and Assistant Instructor Class will take place from 11am-12.30pm on Sunday 24th March at Kearsley Academy, Springfield Road, Kearsley. BL4 8HY. This class is free of charge for all Cadets and Assistants. Wear your dogi as usual and bring your mitts and pads, you will be both training and practising your teaching skills in this session.

Brown and Black Belt Course & the next dan Grading

The next Brown and Black Belt Course will take place on Sunday 17th March from 12pm-2pm at Kearsley Academy, Springfield Road, Kearsley. BL4 8HY. This is highly recommended for all brown and black belts especially those who expecting to attempt their Dan Grades on 28th April. It will give you chance to practise your grading syllabus and work with those who will grading alongside you on the day. It will also give the examiners a chance to see you train before watching you for grading. You’ll then have 4 weeks to make the necessary adjustments.

Price Changes

Lastly, we need to inform you of a couple of price changes that will be coming into effect in some classes from Sunday 3rd March. Our club have not reviewed our prices since March 2021. Over the last three years we have continued to absorb spiralling costs and are no longer in a position to do this as everything continues to rise. Rather than forcing members onto direct debits, we have decided to increase the prices of our classes for individual students and pairs training together. There will be NO price change for families of three or more who live in the same household who train together.

The price will increase by 50p for individual students. Classes will cost £7.00 per one hour session.

The price will increase by 50p each for two family members who train together. Classes will cost £6.00 per person per one hour session.

The prices for families of three or more training in the same session will REMAIN THE SAME at £5.00 per person.

Although this is not good news, we do hope that you will understand that we have held off as long as we could.

You can expect the same high standards of tuition, care and we will not have to reduce class times.

The current prices are in effect until Sunday 3rd March, so if you wanted to block book classes for the next couple of months you will be able to do this at todays prices. Any classes that are booked after 8pm this Sunday will be subject to the price increase.

If you feel you need to discuss this or would like us to contact you, please email us: info@redtigerkarateclub.co.uk

This announcement does not effect the following classes: Stretford, Kings Road, Altrincham, Sale, Little Lever Monday, Romiley, Worsley, Lowercroft, all afterschool clubs and Urmston.
