Helen Cowley Passes the Assistant Instructor Exam!

Congratulations to Helen Cowley who successfully completed the Assistant Instructor exam at the Radcliffe Dojo on Tuesday 16th January.

Helen has been assisting in our classes for quite some time now and is an excellent karateka in her own right. It is wonderful for students of the club that she is now passing on her skills and knowledge.

Assistant Chief Instructor and Head of the Assistant Instructor programme Mike Beckwith Sensei made the following comments:

“I visited the Radcliffe dojo yesterday (16/01/24) to train, however, I was advised that Helen Cowley Sempai was doing her practice assessment so I decided to watch her with the intention of giving feedback. It quickly became apparent that a follow up assessment wouldn’t be required. She was very well prepared and came across very confident and composed in front of the class. She scored extremely highly in each section and held the students attention throughout, picking up on some good teaching points along the way. All in all it was an excellent assessment and Helen Sempai should extremely proud of herself. I’m sure she will make a fantastic Instructor when the opportunity arises. Congratulations Helen Sempai and welcome to the team!”
