There is so much happening in June. We have plenty of events and will be busy in classes preparing for our Club Championships which are just around the corner on the 9th July.

Club calendars will be coming out in classes this week. Please keep hold of these as they let you know whats happening between now and the end of the year.

We also have Club Championships leaflets coming out this week, so look out for those.

Bi-annual License Check

We will be doing our bi-annual Clubwide license check in classes this month. Please bring in your license for your Instructor to check that it is valid and you are licensed and insured to train. Beginners get a four week trial period before we ask them to purchase a license, if you are out of your four weeks and want to continue training please click here to get your license……

According to our records there are a large number of licenses that have lapsed and the students are still regularly attending.

Brown and Black Belt Course with 2nd and 1st Kyu Gradings

Date: Sunday 11th June 2023

Time: 12pm-2pm
Venue: National Taekwondo Centre, Ten Acres Lane Sports Complex, Ten Acres Lane, Newton Heath, Manchester. M40 2SP
Cost: £12.00 for the Course or £10 each for 2 or more in the same household or £30.00 for Kyu Grading & Course

Pay cash or card on the day

The Course is open to all and will run from 12-2pm.

Students will be able attempt their 2nd Kyu and 1st Kyu in front of the Dan grading panel.

Spectators and supporters are more than welcome.

Everyone must take off their shoes before the enter the Dojo.

No Food and drink in the Dojo.

Our Squad in action at the Cumbrian Open

Our squad are in action this Sunday at the Cumbrian Open. Good luck to all of the RTK members who are competing on the day!

We will be rooting for you all!

South Manchester Grading & Black Belt Grading and Retakes

Date: Saturday 17th June

Time: 1pm-3pm

Venue: National Taekwondo Centre, Ten Acres Lane Sports Complex, Ten Acres Lane, Newton Heath, Manchester. M40 2SP

Our first post covid Club Kyu Grading for South Manchester, Stockport and Cheshire open to all students.

Assessments will take place for the grades of 9th Kyu orange belt, 8th Kyu red belt, 7th Kyu yellow belt, 6th kyu green belt, 5th kyu purple belt, 4th kyu purple belt with 1 white stripe and 3rd Kyu brown belt.

Retakes for Black Belts are free of charge.

Grading includes, assessment, license update, updated grade on the APP, a certificate and a belt.

You must have a Club Badge sewn onto the left chest of your uniform and have a valid license to attempt grading. Licenses can be purchased or renewed via this link: LICENSES

You will be invited by your Instructor if you are ready to grade and you can pay cash or by card on the day.

Fundraising Kata and Kumite Class followed by Cadet Leader Class

Date: Sunday 25th June

Time: 10am-11am

Venue: Thornleigh Salesian College, Sharples Park, Bolton, England, BL1 6PQ

To take place before Cadet Leader and Assistant Instructor Class

Cost: £6.50 per person minimum donation

Open to all ages and grades - children to adults - beginners to black belts!

We are holding a 1 hour Kata and Kumite class taught by our squad members and coaches.

You will have the chance to work with the Club’s top competitors to improve your Katas or Kumite in time for our Club Championships on Sunday 9th July.

This event is the perfect prep for our Tournament.

We will warm up altogether and then you can choose if you want to take part in Kata or Kumite. Our Squad members will be on hand to help you, work with you and make you even better than you already are!

Cadet Leader and Assistant Instructor Class

Date: Sunday 25th June

Time: 10am-11am

Venue: Thornleigh Salesian College, Sharples Park, Bolton, England, BL1 6PQ

Cost: Free of charge

These classes are put on by the club free of charge for Cadet Leaders and Assistant Instructors who help in our classes.

Both Assistants and Cadets will train together in the same room at the same time but we split into two different sections.

We will work on the development of your own karate and your teaching skills.

We would like as many of our Cadets and Assistants as possible to attend this event and take advantage of this great opportunity.

Whatever your grade, however long you’ve trained for, there is a category for you to compete in. The top 3 in each category will get a medal and EVERYONE gets a certificate to say they’ve competed.

We plan to have 4 tatamis (arenas) running so when you or your children are not competing, there will be something for you to watch.

YOU DO NOT NEED TO BE THERE ALL DAY!

We will post the events timetable on the website on the Wednesday so you can see what time you need to be at the venue.

You’ve got to be in it to win it. No prizes for sitting on the sofa watching your Ipad or playing your playstation!

Kata and Kumite Squad sessions take place every Monday evening at Thornleigh Salesian College and 1:1 tuition is available either face to face with Paul Wolstencroft Sensei and Rob Head Sensei or ZOOM 1:1 sessions with Debbie Sensei.
