We want to say a big thank you to all involved in making our Ultimate Training Weekend 9 another great success. The feedback has been really positive and it sounds like everybody has thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
Thanks to the Guest Instructors: Matt Price Sensei, Nick Heald Sensei, Ashley Scott-Heald Sensei, Paul Wolstencroft Sensei and Gary Welch Sensei. Their teaching was superb and we all left feeling inspired and having learned a great deal. We all have a lot to work on and I think its safe to say that their enthusiasm and passion for passing on their karate is second to none. You can see why they are all so successful at what they do best.
Without the support of the students, our fantastic Instructor team and Red Tiger families we would not be able to put on great events like these. You are what makes our Club. Friendships are formed and memories are made that will last a lifetime. We are share one common interest which is our love of training in karate but we definitely have as much fun outside the dojo as we do inside the dojo. It is also a great opportunity for parents to get to know one another, let their hair down and enjoy themselves.
Alongside 7 hours of fun training, we managed to pack in absolutely loads. There was time for some Kata training on the beach along with team games and beach dodgeball. There has been time for go-kart races, pedal bike racing, swimming, beer pong eliminations and lots of Karaoke.
We must thank Joni Longden Sensei for taking charge of the Karaoke and trying his best to fit everyone in who wanted to try and win our fab trophies. He was very patient and worked hard all night to make sure everyone had a good time. What a star!
We must congratulate both our winner of “best karaoke performance” – Teresa Withington Sensei who rather surprisingly has the voice of an angel! Also commiserations to Gary Welch Sensei and Emily Withington whose duet earned them the “awful karaoke performance” trophy. You know what they say though – “OWT IS BETTER THAN NOWT!”.
There were four trophies to be given out by our Guest Instructors and Paul Wolstencroft Sensei. The job of picking one person out of so many who tried really hard must be such a difficult task. Congratulations to following students who won Huge Trophies. All very well deserved.
- Ashley Scott-Heald Sensei Award – Emma Stansfield

The last people to thank are the Baron family. Michelle Baron generously gave up her opportunity to train and worked tirelessly all day taking photos and has truly captured what was a great atmosphere to train in. The photographs are absolutely fantastic, everyone looks either hard at work, deep in concentration or having a laugh with one another. You can download any/all of the photos for free. What a kind and generous couple both Mike Sensei and Michelle are. Although it has nothing to do with karate – this one has to be the shot of the weekend! Who is gonna mess with this face…………..!!!!!!!
Big thanks to Nicola Holland Sensei as always for helping with the Certificates and admin side of everything. Sitting on the sidelines through injury is terribly frustrating but Nic Sensei is always there with a smile on her face, making sure everyone has a good time and showing her support. Thank you very much.
