Thank you so much to all of the families who attended our 15th UTW at Haf ny mor holiday park in Wales. We had so much fun but it went by quick as a flash. I think it is safe to say that we are all exhausted, gutted that it was over so soon but can’t wait to do it all over again. As always, without your support we would not be able to run events like this so we really do thank you for your participation and enthusiasm.
We always look forward to these events because it is about so much more than the karate. It is getting to spend time away, doing what we all love to do (kicking and punching each other) with our karate friends. Friendships are made and strengthened at these weekends not only among the students but also between the parents, families and Instructors. It is so nice to be able to relax with your friends out of our gi’s and have some fun.
All feedback is welcomed both good and bad and we’ll try our best to address it for the next one. If you have any feedback for Haven I can also pass that along too.
There’s a fair few thank you’s to be made so I’ll start with the Sensei’s who taught thoroughly enjoyable sessions, Matt Price Sensei, Matt Stockham Sensei and Paul Wolstencroft Sensei. Each and every-time these Instructors come up with original ideas and make sure that we go away having worked hard and learned loads. It is the first time we have trained with JKS Wales Squad Coach Matt Stockham Sensei and certainly won’t be the last. He was fab. Matt Sensei and Paul Sensei as always were awesome and never fail bring something different.
We should say well done to the winners of the trophies:
Daisy Parton – Matt Stockham Sensei Award
Louis Standring – Matt Price Sensei Award
Master Sam Jackson – Paul Wolstencroft Sensei Award
I’m sure we were all AMAZED and ASTONISHED that Miss Daisy P managed to keep quiet(ish) all weekend! Her karate is brilliant and I am so pleased that she has been recognised. If you can bring this new quiet Daisy to my classes, I will love you forever!
Louis and Sam played it so cool when they were chosen to collect their awards but I’m sure that they are both secretly delighted and sleeping next to their trophies every night! Sam is like Man City, just can’t stop winning them trophies and bringing them back to Denton and Louis is always so close, always the bridesmaid, never the bride but this time, he won it and thoroughly deserved it!!!!
For those of you only here for the images the link has been posted below. We must say a huge thank you to Michelle Baron, Mike Baron and Paul Towler who all volunteer to take their brilliant images that always capture just how much fun was had by all on the day. There are even some videos to enjoy this time too. Your work is superb. It is always appreciated and never expected, thank you so much. Make sure you like and credit Vanilla Pod Studios if you download and share any of the images as the credit is well deserved.

Looking forward to the next one already???? Me too!!!!!
The date has been set for the weekend of 4th October. If you have any suggestions about how we can improve the weekend or any Senior Instructors/International competitors you’d like to train with please let us know and I’ll approach them. The accommodation will be much cheaper on the October one so you’ll have to be super speedy quick as a cat to book your place. I’ll release the information around late July/early August so check out the UTW page around that time.
