Okamoto Sensei on inspirational form!

We would like to say a huge thank you to all the students and Instructors who attended our Saori Okamoto Course on Monday 25th July. The turnout was superb and all of our students so tried hard from start to finish in an attempt to impress the JKS World Kata Champion. She later commented on the effort, Kiai’s and spirit of our students so we are very happy and proud of you all!

Without the support of the Club members and other JKS Clubs and Instructors we would not be able to run such fantastic events. Special thanks to Kevin Christopher Sensei, Neil Sahar and Neil Stringer who visited from JKS Chorley and also Paul Allison Sensei 5th Dan and Keiko Sigley from JKS Preston. We also had a visit from Alistair Mitchell Sensei 7th Dan. Thank you all for your support and subsequent kind words. It is much appreciated.

Okamoto Sensei is one of the most inspirational exponents of karate you will ever be lucky enough to train with. I am certain that she has left a lasting impression on all of us. The power she manages to generate is almost inconceivable for somebody of such slight stature and you just have to see it to believe.

Okamoto Sensei is a remarkable young woman who manages to combine her phenomenal talent with extraordinarily engaging teaching skills. She had a wonderful way with our children and was kind a patient enough to take the time to correct them and give them individual attention. She was happy to appear on photographs and sign tickets and uniforms. This meant a lot to our students (especially the kids) and she couldn’t have been more obliging.

Sensei also performed a couple of exceptional Kata demonstrations which made it very easy to see why she is the JKS World Champion and favourite to retain her title at the World Championships in Scotland this September.

She was an absolute pleasure to spend time with both in and out of the dojo. Exemplary manners, humility and respect are all qualities every karate-ka should show and Okamoto Sensei is a true karate-ka at all times.

I think it is fair to say that at Red Tiger, we are all a little bit in love with Okamoto Sensei. Not just her karate but her charming and endearing nature.

Huge thank you must go to Alan Campbell Sensei and Wendy Preston Sensei for affording us the opportunity and allowing us to experience a course we will never forget.

Mike Baron Sensei was very kind and took some awesome pictures of the first course. You can view these by clicking the link below and download any that you want to keep. Thank you very much Mike Sensei – you are a star!
