Big thanks to everyone who attended the Kyu Grade Course or our Brown and Black Belt Course on Sunday 4th November.
Both courses were well attended and looked to be bags of fun.
It is the first time we have handed over the reigns of responsibility to some of our England Squad Superstars and they certainly didn’t disappoint!
Grace Baron, Louis Johnson, Zak Thomas-Blackhurst, Molly Austin-Hogden and Lori-Ann Moran were all asked to prepare and teach their own sections in their individual areas of expertise and they all did brilliantly.
The feedback has been fantastic and we hope to put on another event like this for them and our others in the future.
It is easy to forget that these guys are still very young because they all been training for so long and come across so calm and so confident. They always conduct themselves with class and show a maturity way beyond their years. Getting up in front of 100+ people including your peers and your Instructors takes a hell of a lot of courage. This experience has been a valuable one for you and everyone is talking about how well you all did. Well done.
The juniors are the future of our Club and they certainly proved that it is in very good hands. And these youngsters can only get BETTER!

Thanks so much Paul, there’s some brilliant shots in there! I particularly like this one, what’s going on here? Hahahaha!!! I bet Louis Johnson has never run so fast in his LIFE!
The next Courses will take place on a date to be confirmed in January 2019.
****Black Belt Grading Candidates****
If you are hoping to attempt your Shodan or Nidan on Monday 10th December we will need to see you at one of the practise sessions (at least) being held from now on every Monday night at Thornleigh Salesian College, Sharples Park, Bolton. BL1 6PQ. Time: 8pm-9pm. Cost £6.00.
There are limited places available to grade on 10th December (because we can only have the hall until 10pm) and students who attend the extra training will be given priority.
This session is nothing to worry about, it just offers you the opportunity to practise the exam with those who will be grading alongside you on the day. You will get given detailed feedback by me so that you can go away and work on all with your Sensei. I cannot help you if you don’t turn up.
