JKS England Team successful at the BKF Championships

The JKS England Squad members recorded their best ever performance at the British Karate Federation Championships held in the impressive Emirate Arena in Glasgow over the weekend.

Thanks to the Red Tiger members and parents who attended and represented JKS England, it turned out to be a very long and tiring day indeed. All of our competitors worked really hard and gained lots of valuable experience. This was just the 2nd time our members have competed outside of the Club and the results are improving each time.

We are alsoimage delighted to share that our very own Hannah Cain came away with a silver medal in the 16-17 year olds + 59KG junior female kumite category. Hannah fought JKS England teammate Emelye O’ Brien in the final, so congratulations to both girls for taking the top spots in that category.

Outstanding stuff! Emelye is an LKA member and 2014 JKS British and European Champion, this puts into perspective just how well Hannah did at only her 2nd external event.

The final medal tally for JKS England was 3 Golds, 4 Silvers and 10 Bronze. We finished 7th on the medal table out of 50 associations across England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. We are lucky to be part of such a rapidly expanding and improving association with two of the very best National Squad Coaches in the UK.
