Helen Finney promoted to Sensei

We are delighted to announce that we have a new Instructor joining our team taking our grand total of Sensei’s to 31!

Helen Finney has been teaching alongside Teresa Withington Sensei at our Chesham dojo every Wednesday evening for a couple of years now.

She passed her Assistant Instructor exam with flying colours on her very first attempt and it was clear that she would very competent and capable of running her very own class. Helen successfully attempted her 1st Dan late last year and has fantastic karate.

She has been a wonderful Assistant over at Chesham and will be sorely missed by by Teresa Sensei and the students of the class. Miss Emily Withington will be taking over and joining our Assistant programme and we are very excited to have somebody of her exceptional talent teaching the students at Chesham alongside her Mum. Go Team Withington!

We have opened a brand new dojo at Haslingden Primary School which will run every Monday evening from 6pm-7pm and is already full to capacity with excited beginners. If there are any adult students currently green belt or above who are looking to join our Assistant Instructor programme, we are looking for a confident Trainee to assist Sensei Helen with her boisterous new beginners.

We’d like to wish you the very best of luck in your class and officially welcome you to the team. We have every confidence that you’ll be brilliant.

We’d also like to welcome all of the brand new students recruited from Helmshore Primary School due to start this Monday 12th March.

The class will run from 6pm-7pm but may we ask you to arrive 10-15 minutes early to meet Sensei Helen and collect your welcome pack.

Just wear a T-Shirt and Jogging bottoms or something loose and comfortable and take a drink for the break.

Have fun and good luck! We are looking forward to helping you get to your Black Belts!
