Red Tiger Karate Club Tournament
April 26th 2015
This is always our biggest event of the year. Over 200 competitors battled it out in last years heat wave for 180 medals that were up for grabs. This is a friendly tournament whereby students compete against people from other dojos.
You can enter both Kata and Kumite events and can print a downloadable entry form by clicking the link below. All entries must be in by Monday 20th April at the very latest.
We have booked the Dome in Bolton to host our event. Medals and trophies are available for those coming in 1st 2nd or 3rd positions and a large certificate is awarded to everyone that takes part. There are team events for those who are too nervous to go it alone.
It is a fantastic day out and an electric atmosphere. We have categories for beginners right up to Black Belts and everyone is welcome to give it a go!
You can bring as many friends, family and supporters along as you like, it is free to come and watch. All categories, competitors names and the times of your events will be posted on the website from Thursday 23rd April onwards. That way, you don not have to hang around all day to participate in your event.
Kata events and most of the junior kumite events will run to completion. Medals and certificateswill be awarded there and then but some kumite finals will be taking place on Ring 2 between 5pm and 6pm.
Competitors taking part in the kumite must be wearing mitts/gloves and shin and instep protectors. It is also compulsory to wear a gum shield. Males should wear a groin guard and female chest protectors are recommended.
Individual Kata and Individual Kumite events take place at the same time and usually last about 30-45 minutes.
