There is lots of news to keep up with this week and we hope everyone is enjoying the Sunshine and half term break. The majority of classes are running as normal and our Club Tournament is just under 4 weeks away so make sure you attend your usual classes this week to get prepared!

We have some fantastic news to report from the British Karate Federation 4 Nations Championships which took place in Leicester last weekend.

The JKS England Squad had a hugely successful weekend finishing in 2nd Place on the medal table. Amazing results, congratulations to all the squad and the coaches.

There were plenty of Red Tigers in action so congratulations to the following students who travelled to Leicester and were brave enough to put themselves out there on the mats:

Matthew Affleck, Louis Johnson, Ron Matthews, Grace Baron, Lori-Ann Moran, Georgie Dyal, Molly Austin-Hogsden, Abby Fielding, Sam Jackson and Zak Thomas-Blackhurst.

This was a very high level competition with the very best competitors from England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. It takes a lot of courage to compete at this level so we are truly proud of you all, medal or no medal.

A few were lucky enough to medal so a big well done to the following people who were successful in their categories:

Grace Baron: Silver in Team Kumite and Gold in Team Kata

Lori-Ann Moran: Silver in Individual Kumite and Silver in Team Kumite

Ron Matthews: Bronze in Individual Veterans Male Kumite

Sam Jackson: Bronze in Team Kata

Georgie Dyal: Bronze in Team Kumite

Molly Austin-Hogsden: Bronze in Team Kumite

You can see their smiling faces on the medals photo’s on our facebook group page or the JKS England Facebook Page.
