We hope you have enjoyed the School holidays. I'm sure you are all well rested and raring to go! We have had plenty of new beginners over the Summer. A warm welcome to you all, we look forward to training you and helping you reach all of your goals.If you've not trained for a while, don't worry. You are always welcome back, just book on and get yourself down to class. It'll be hard work, but you'll feel great afterwards.All classes are back up and running as normal including Denton and Horwich which both restart tonight and Romiley and Cheadle Hulme which both opened back up last night.All classes are available to book now via the APP. It will be great to get back into routine and see all your lovely faces again!

We have plenty to look forward to this month including:

Attendance awards for those who have continued to train throughout the Summer

Gold, Silver and Bronze awards will be going out in classes over the next couple of weeks.

Dan Grading this Sunday 12th September

We have almost 30 karateka attempting their Dan grading this weekend. We wish you all the very best of luck. You have been very determined to reach this level and have put the work in to get this far. We are looking forward to seeing how fantastic you all are! 

Our first post-lockdown Course!!! Joe Kellaway Sensei is back!!!!

2 hour Kumite course with European Bronze medallist and England's number 1 fighter Joe Kellaway Sensei.

When: Sunday 26th September

Where: Elton High School, Walshaw rd. Bury. BL8 1RNTime: 1.30-3.30pm

Places allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Minimum grade is 9th Kyu orange belt.

Squad Class is back.

We are to resume our Squad Training classes from Tuesday 14th September. These are for students interested in taking part in competitive karate (Olympic and WKF style where the training is just Kata or Kumite based). There will be some in-class competitions taking place in October. External competitions will also be resuming very soon and we want to be ready with a strong squad. We have separated the classes so that we can concentrate fully of the different types of training required.

Kumite class will take place at our Reddish Dojo with Rob Sensei, Rachael Sensei and Connor Sensei on the following dates:

Tuesday 14th September, Tuesday 28th September, Tuesday 12th October

Kata class will take place at our Bolton Dojo with Mike Baron Sensei and Grace Baron Sensei on the following dates:

Tuesday 21st September, Tuesday 5th October and Tuesday 19th October

You will be able to book these classes via the APP over the next few days. Minimum grade is 6th Kyu green belt.

EKF Kata and Kumite Northern Region Squad training

For those already selected and those working towards being selected by the English Karate Federation, there are two events taking place this month: EKF Kumite training is on 18th September from 10-12pm with Frank Pullano Sensei and Jason Netherton Sensei in Halifax.

EKF Kata training is on 25th September from 10am-1pm with Paul Wolstencroft Sensei and Kelly Horsfall Sensei in Bury.

These can be booked directly with the EKF.

Kyu Gradings in Classes

Paul Wolstencroft Sensei, Rachael Wolstencroft Sensei and Mike Beckwith Sensei will once again be visiting your Dojo's to conduct Kyu grading examinations from Monday 27th September onward.

Your instructor will be putting forward those who are ready to be assessed for their first or next grade. You must have completed a minimum of 3 months and/or 10 lessons to attempt orange belt.

You must have completed a minimum of 3 months and/or 20 lessons to attempt red belts, yellow belts, green belts, purple belts, purple & white belts and brown belt.

You must have completed a minimum of 6 months and/or 40 lessons to attempt 2nd Kyu and 1st Kyu brown belts. 

Student Licensing 

There are quite a lot of students coming up for renewal or whose licenses have already lapsed. Please can you check that yours is in date. You will be able to check by looking at the expiry date of the EKF slip in the back of your red license book. If yours has lapsed, you/your child is not currently insured to train or a member of RTK or the EKF.

Renewals and New Licenses can be ordered online via our ONLINE SHOP and are processed every day. We can send them via the post or you can collect free of charge at class. (We allow beginners to train for the first four weeks before they need to get a license). To order yours - please follow this link:
