Newly Crowned - Dojo Champions and our first Kath Head Award Winner

Following the huge success of our Club Championships last weekend the main trophies have now been awarded.

New Dojo Champions

Congratulations to Mike Baron Sensei, Grace Baron Sensei and Cadet Leader Izzy Baron. Team Standish won with a whopping 77 points! They show team spirit and supported one another throughout the day. We were all so impressed with their exceptional performances and we are sure they will keep up the great work. You’ve made your Sensei’s so proud!

See below our picture of the Fab 3 collecting their trophy on Monday night. I am sure the team are raring to get back together next Thursday and celebrate with your trophy. Well done.

Kath Head Award Winner

Catherine Johnson from the Timperley and Handforth Dojo’s was chosen as the first recipient of the Kath Head Award.

Catherine has been training with us for many years and is a Nidan Black Belt and a former Instructor. Catherine remains dedicated to her training and always gives it 100% every time she trains. She quietly gets on with it, is consistent with her training and continually improves. It has been a long time since we have seen Catherine competing and she made a great comeback winning a silver medal in the Female 21+ Kata section.

Debbie Sensei and Rob Sensei commented that Catherine reminds them so much of their Mum Kath. Always there, trying her best. A lovely lady to train alongside. Supports everybody else but never quite believes in herself as she should. She is brilliant at karate and just lacks the confidence. I am sure she had to really steel herself to enter this comp and should be so proud of her achievements. She thoroughly deserves this award. Well done Catherine.
