Our Summer competition will be to search for Red Tiger Karate's official 'Karate Kid'. If you are voted as our 'Karate Kid' you will win 1 years free unlimited training (saving mum and dad £360)  and a 'Shogun' Silver Karate uniform (rrp £55.00!) The 2nd Prize is a Red Tiger Karate Hooded Sweatshirt in a colour of your choice and the 3rd prize is a brand new polo shirt. 

We have some absolutely brilliant Karate Kids and I'm sure the competition will be very tough! Many of you will be aware that the 1980's film The Karate Kid has been remade and is out at the cinemas now. We have decided to run a clubwide competition which any student from any dojo can enter as long as they are under 16 years.

All you need to do is get your parent or guardian to record a short video (no longer than 60 seconds) of you doing your favourite Kata or karate moves. Then you need to post the video on our facebook page (or you can send it via email to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it  and I will add it for you). 

Our Facebook page is strictly members only so in order to add your video, you will have to request to join. You will then be able to post videos from the 1st August until 1st September 2010. The Instructors, Assistants and Trainee Instructors will the conduct a vote at Senior Class on Friday 3rd September to decide the winner, 2nd place and 3rd place students. We will then announce the winners on the website on Monday 6th September 2010. 

To become our 'Official Karate Kid' you need to read the following competiton information and rules:

1) To enter you must be aged a Red Tiger Karate Club member
2) You must be aged between 5 and 16 years and wear a clean and ironed karate uniform and club badge.
3) You must submit your video between Sunday 1st August and Wednesday 1st September
4) The video must be no longer than 60 seconds
5) The video must be posted on the official Red Tiger Karate facebook page
6) If you are not a member of the Official Facebook group, please request to join this group clearly stating whose parent or guardian you are.
7) Any grades can enter from 9th Kyu to Black Belt
8) If you wish to have another person in your video (i.e. 2 juniors doing a kumite demonstration), you must make it clear whose entry it is.   
9) You do not have to do a kata, you can do sparring of a routine you have made up! As long as you try your best and show us how good you are.
10) 1 years free training will start from Monday 6th September and end Tuesday 6th September 2011.
11) For the winners: The Shogun uniform, sweatshirt and polo shirt prizes may take up to two weeks to arrive
12) You must have the consent of your parent or guardian
